Castell Autokran acquires first Tadano HK 4.070-1

Nils Prüfert, Managing Director at Castell Autokran, knew that the brand new Tadano® HK 4.070-1 truck-mounted crane was the right choice from the get-go: “The places where we do work are often really narrow and steep. And that’s not just at the work sites themselves, but also on the way there, so we need maneuverable cranes that can get around without a problem even when space is tight – that’s what the Tadano HK 4.070-1 is.”

With its tridem rear axle and a steered trailing axle, the Tadano truck-mounted crane is able to achieve tight turn radii that cannot be matched by any other crane in its class – up to two meters smaller than its predecessor and the competition! This makes it the perfect model for assignments in the Moselle and Rhine valleys, as well as for driving on narrow roads in the Eifel, Hunsrück, Westerwald, and Taunus mountain ranges – the main areas where the Koblenz company does its work. In addition, the HK 4.070-1 really shines at tight work sites thanks to its H-style outriggers and five outrigger bases. “Its ease of handling and enormous versatility made the HK 4.070-1 the natural choice for us,” highlights Prüfert, who placed the order for the crane on a Volvo chassis with Tadano Sales Manager Frank Brachtendorf. In fact, the HK 4.070-1 also proved to be perfectly adaptable in line with the customer’s needs in terms of available chassis.
